So this is where it starts. After four fun filled days at SDCC, I have taken it upon myself to become a superhero. For the next year I am going to actively try to follow the lifestyle of Wonder Woman, aka Diana.
Time for a Diana Breakdown:
according to wikipedia, the abridged version of her life is the following:
"Wonder Woman is a Princess of the Amazons (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and was created by Marston, an American, as a "distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men."[2] Known in her homeland as Diana of Themyscira, her powers include superhuman strength, flight, super-speed, super-stamina, and super-agility. She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. She uses her Lasso of Truth, which forces those bound by it to tell the truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets, a tiara which serves as a projectile, and, in some stories, an invisible airplane."
So basically i got the following:
1. Since she's based out of greek mythology, I'd assume she'd have a great proficiency in greek mythology, philosophy, etc.
2. She wants to spread ideals of love, peace and gender equality. I'm going to expand that last one to equality for all, makes more sense now.
3. She is super fit.
4. She talks to animals.
5. She has an invisible vehicle.
6. She is a princess (duh)
So my plan is the following:
1.To become proficient in the greek classics.
2.To spread my ideals of love, peace and equality to the best of my ability.
3.To get super fit... crap.
4.To become a vegan (in all books i've read on WW she is a vegetarian because let's face it, you don't want to eat your friends, their babies or their byproducts).
5.I need to fly a jet.
6. To treat myself like a princess.
I swear I've thought this out... most of it. The way I see it, everyday i'll take on at least one of the six tenants i've established. The more the merrier. It will be gradual and practical approach. I'm not looking to "try something new everyday" because i don't have the bank account nor the time to do so. And to keep myself in check I've created this blog for myself. No i don't intend for anyone to really read this but the idea that i have a blog makes me feel like i have some responsibility to the interweb to stay consistent.
So without further ado, here we go!
Today I had to drive up from San Diego to Los Angeles and then spend all day recording. So i decided to start something easy, like wean meat out of my diet. It's actually not a bad plan since i've been eating poorly these past couple of days (Comic Con!). I pretty much have stayed true to form, only slipping up with one hard boiled egg that i ate because i was hungry as frick. but the rest was veggies and other stuff.
Since I've just moved up here with my own digs I'm hoping as soon as i get settled to really tackle the other "pillars of Diana." I'm sure the list will change as I continue down this road. I know in my gut that this is probably the best thing i can go through. I know it won't be easy, but i think that as long as i keep a positive attitude and stay true to myself that there can be nothing but a positive transformation ahead for me.
so pumped. time to unleash my ww. Hera, give me strength.
